BLACK BELT TESTING REQUIREMENTS
First Degree Candidates

BOARD BREAK:
Jump Technique - 1 station
Ground techniques - 2 stations


Approved techniques are:

Back elbow                  Round Kick

Jump Front Kick          Jump Side Kick



SHOW PROFICIENTY IN BASIC TECHNIQUES:
All punches
All kicks
All blocks
All stances
Block & Punch combinations
Punch & Kick combinations

Pro Sparring

Students will be graded on attitude, focus and intensity
PHYSICAL TESTING:
1/2 mile run  - testing for second grade recommended
3/4 mile run - testing for third grade recommended
1 mile run - testing for decided
Contact sparring
Minimum Amount of Pushups in one minute
Minimum Amount of Situps in one minute
All other physical challenges introduced on the date of testing



SECOND DEGREE CANDIDATES
Must complete all the same requirements as First Degree Candidates
plus the following
Mastery form
Black Belt Weapon form
Must prepare and perform an original traditional open hand form of between 30 & 45 moves (length can vary depending on age of candidate)

Must prepare and perform an origianl weapon form to music, weapon and music of choice) music must be edited and prepared prior to test time) and at least 25 seconds in length (length can vary depending on age of candidate)


Candidates must attend at least 2 regular classes per week
Candidates must attend at least 8 sparring classes during each six month period between tests.

in a minute
Minimum Amount of Situps in a minute
All other physical challenges presented at time of test

NSMA Testing and Tuition Fee Policy.
Effective 01/01/2006

In order for any student to qualify for Black Belt, he/she must be current with tuition and testing fees.

Should any student default on tuition or any other fees due and payable to NSMA, subsequent to acquiring their Black Belt, their Black Belt may be rescinded by NSMA.

NSMA Adherence Policy.
Effective 03/20/2010

Any individual that receives a Black Belt from NSMA, will be indefinitely required to maintain the highest degree of integrity, along with respecting the school, the students, the instructors, and the owners of the school.
Should any Black Belt disregard the above requirements, their Black Belt may be resinded by NSMA.
